Country Concert 2012

Then there was Country Concert!!  Joe and I haven't been here in quite a few years, but always said if Zac Brown Band was there, we were going!!  So we went with his sisters and their spouses.  A good time was had by all!!  :}  We didn't by any means 'rough it' during the 100 degree weather we had in July.  I made sure we took the generator for AC and we filled the water tank for showers!!  I have my limits people.  :}

We opted to purchase front row seats for ZBB........Best.Purchase.Ever!  We love this band.

Disclaimer: please excuse the cell phone pictures.......thanks!  :}

'Roughing It'

At the end of June a horrible storm ripped through our county, and half of the US!!  We were very fortunate compared to some!  We had 2-3 square of shingles and tar paper torn off our house and a square off the garage........both resulted in water damage inside the house and garage!  We've finally gotten a new roof put on and are slowly getting the damages inside fixed!  The storm left us without power for quite a while........so we did what any normal family would do......we generated our camper and camped in our driveway!!  Much easier to generate that as opposed to the whole house.
There were bonfires......
and sparklers......because it was almost the Fourth of July!  The moon was soooo bright most nights, made for some cool pictures.

Maybe 4 days after we lost power (and were still out) the campground we camp at got their power restored........so we pulled out of the driveway and went there!!  Always a good time with our good friends!  They were without power at home as well.......so as soon as we got word about the campground, we both headed out!!

Yogi in June!!

I'm back!!  After way too long gone from the blog, I will attempt to catch up before the end of the year!!  :}

Waaaaay back in June, we went camping with our friends at 1 of the many Jellystone Parks, aka Yogi Bear Campground!!  The kids had a blast!  There was a splash pad, 3 (I think) pools, water slides, 2 huge bounce pads........the kiddos were in heaven!  My kids weren't interested in the water slides, but they sure loved the bouncing and the splash pads!!

 And this slide proved to be hazardous to Evan.......
He went down head first and another kid running past the bottom of the slide slammed into Evan's head with his knee and fell down, which in turn caused Evan to become pinned under the water with his face pressed into the concrete!!  He wasn't sure which way was up when he finally resurfaced for air!!  Poor guy.....the next day his whole eye was purple.  Needless to say, he no longer went head first down the slide!

Let the Camping Begin!!!

OMG.....we were finally able to get our new (to us) camper we'd been looking at since last summer!!  We had been borrowing my boss's camper and went a few time last summer.......but figured it was time to get one of our own and really begin enjoying the weekends camping with the kids!!  We are all very excited about spending lots of time in here over the summer!!

Check it out.....

Ella in her room watching TV.  Apparently she needs to sit close!!
The kids' bunk area.....
Had to buy some cool fish to 'fun up' the bath tub!!

Spending the day in the pool........I'm so glad my kids' swim classes are paying off!!  They are both comfortable in the water, but also know their limitations.......asking for water wings or their kick boards when they want to head out to the deeper end!!

We also had to get some tomato plants planted this weekend......the kids of course helped dad!!

Check out that face!!
Not sure what she's doing here......but she cracks me up!!

Pre-School Graduation!!

I can hardly believe Evan has graduated from pre-school and will be on his way to kindergarden in the fall.......where does the time go???  Really???  Evan and Ella were both in pre-school this year at Thomas Edison, so Ella was involved with the graduation program too!!  Each class does a song and dance and then the graduates are introduced.......such a fun time!!

Here's Evan running from my camera! hahaha
Ella was sooooo excited to finally get to wear this dress!  She's been asking me for like the past three weeks to wear it to school.......and I kept telling her we were saving it for her program.  Needless to say, she was beyond thrilled when I pulled it out of the closet!!  They are to adorable!!
Ella's class doing their 'Beanie Bag Dance!'  Ella had Mrs. Adams this year and she had such a fantastic time in school!!  I must admit, I was very worried about Ella in school, but I think she did wonderful and Mrs. Adams has sparked her love for learning and her imagination!!
She was kind of hidden in the back.....so I had to sneak some pictures when the boy in front of her would drop his bean bag!!  She's also standing beside her very best friend Lillie (in the purple).

Here is Evan's class......they sang 'My Mother is a Baker'

They had to tickle each other at the end.........good times!!
Introducing the graduate!!
He saw me up front snagging his picture........hahaha
With Mrs. Owens!!  She and Mrs. Barnhart did a fantastic job teaching Evan!!  He really loves school and learning and helping others.......I know they will miss him!!  I am very excited for Ella to have Mrs. Owens next year!!
One final song by all the kids and their wands!!

Attempting to get the kids to cooperate for a few pictures at home......it went 'well'!! haha

Thomas Edison makes one of these signs for each graduate!!  We are so proud of you Evan.....you are going to do wonderful things!!
